Adam Surgenor - Senior Developer
Adam grew up with computers and by the age of ten, was writing software for his school and friends. Whilst still at school, his interest in PCs progressed naturally to developing applications for MSDOS in C, which came in handy on the pocket money front!
Adam’s software development career began with Hambro Guardian, developing financial projections; he then went onto design financial services software for Bacon and Woodrow. His cross-over to the web began in 1997, when Adam joined Datastream to write middleware that exposed mainframe based services over the internet and combined with data from numerous other services; this created the basis of the Global Access website. Adam’s web career proper started in 1999 as the lead developer for Handbag.com and Crocus.co.uk; he also consulted on sites such as Deliaonline.co.uk. His development and consultancy skills neatly combined to produce web based applications for Interserve Plc., The British Standards Institute, Work Group Plc. and The Royal Association for Deaf people.
Now working with Open Frontiers, Adam is now focusing his skills and experience on Time Pursuit’s extensive development programme. In his spare time, for much of the last 10 years, Adam has developed and maintained the websites for Surrey and Wiltshire Wildlife Trusts, although this role is diminishes. He has keen interests in conservation, photography, cooking (with a particular specialism in chocolate cake!), reading and when he can get round to it, DIY.
