Adventure Forest and Go Ape
Adventure Forest (AFL), parent of the Go Ape business was experiencing meteoric growth and commissioned Open Frontiers to design and build a bespoke activity booking and customer management system. The resulting system, called Time Pursuit, is the brainchild of Oliver and has been shaped from his considerable depth of experience in airline reservation and revenue management systems.
Time Pursuit now forms the IT backbone of the whole AFL enterprise. It is designed using the latest web-based technology, is scaleable for future growth and is configurable for a variety of future business expansion and diversification concepts. It has already handled £50 million turnover and more than a million customers and is on target to dramatically reduce the cost of sale and catapult forward productivity within the AFL enterprise.
For GoApe, read high-wire forest adventure. Now with 26 UK-based and one US-based forest courses, Go Ape builds giant obstacle courses up in the trees using ladders, walkways, bridges and tunnels made of wood, rope and super-strong wire, and top it all off with the country’s best zip lines (including the longest at 426 metres – check it out on You Tube).
Customers are kitted out with harnesses, pulleys and karabiners and let loose into the forest canopy.
Go Ape needed to grow their revenues in their off-peak weekday term-time periods. Oliver designed, planned and implemented a complete packaged corporate hospitality product, which has allowed them to improve low mid-week productivity and reap high double digit margins on minimal incremental investment. The corporate calendar now provides a really significant contribution to the business and it keeps growing year on year!
