Katy Wigdahl - Director
Katy has a 1st Class combined honours degree in French and English from Liverpool University. Following her degree she lived and worked in Switzerland where she took on roles at first C.E.R.N and then the World Health Organisation.
After returning to the UK, Katy joined the renowned Unilever graduate management scheme where she worked for the next seven years in a variety of roles and on a variety of key FMCG brands, including ‘Profitability Team’ for Persil, Commercial brand manager – Comfort, and European bottles & packaging buyer. Whilst doing the day job, Katy also studied for the four year Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) course, which she completed in just two years and went on to win a coveted accolade from CIMA for finishing in top ten world-wide. A geographical move took Katy to the Republic of Ireland where she was immersed in the roll-out of the SAP enterprise resource management software, as SAP project manager for Unilever Ireland. She worked with the board to support local and European wide commercial partners such as Tesco and Superquin, as well as responding to meet the challenges of changing legislation and European integration.
At a later stage Katy’s return to the UK did not deter her from continuing support for the Irish operation of Unilever as a remote based consultant for a further five years, during which time she implemented the latest Pan-European SAP solution and restructured their local supply chain. She has provided on-going consultancy at all levels of the business as analyst, trainer and strategic business planning consultant. She finalised her engagement recently to join the board of Open Frontiers.
Aside from juggling the responsibilities of being mother to four and the demands of Open Frontiers, Katy makes time to pursue her real interests in gardening, reading and keep fit.
