Oliver Wigdahl - Managing Director
Oliver has spent the majority of his career in the airline & travel sector, in a variety of roles. Before embarking on the Open Frontiers consulting and Time Pursuit initiatives, he managed easyJet’s entire Stansted Airport operation - then their largest hub airport. Prior to this he was Head of Sales & Distribution for first Go and then easyJet. At Go he was one of the team of 19 senior managers and directors involved with Barbara Cassani in the successful management buy-out of Go Fly Ltd from British Airways, and subsequently helped take the business from a £25m start-up to its eventual £375m trade sale to easyJet, just four years later.
A variety of other commercial roles at American Airlines, Air Europe, The International Leisure Group and Trailfinders, both UK and Europe based, together with a strong agri-economics degree from the University of Newcastle-upon-Tyne, have armed him with the tools and experience necessary to lend a hand to others.
He is no stranger to multi million pound revenue targets and tight cost control within the disciplined and profitable world of low cost airlines. Equally he has a proven track record of motivating and managing large teams of people to achieve ambitious financial and operational goals. He has broad competence in the fields of general management, management of change, and commercial strategy – but also deep expertise in sales channel management, including e-commerce, call centres, sales forces, customer relations & support and sales automation - skills that have allowed Oliver to bring the Open Frontiers concept to life.
Outside of the work place Oliver pursues energetic pastimes including hockey and windsurfing and is a glutton for travel to far flung climes. He devotes the remainder of his time to his wife, four children (not to mention the plethora of animals) and their shared interest in garden design, and all things rural.
